We like that word

When it justifies ourselves 

Our lifestyle 

Tolerance to accept our actions  

To applaud them 

To sit with them comfortably 

One day we may find

Ourselves watching on the street

Staring at an act of injustice 

Against people

Imago Dei

The image of God

Uncomforted in the violence 

Yet

Unwilling to act

Because our hearts have never stood 

For truth.
